Lower Shore Intergroup has the following committees...ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE: This Committee carries the A.A. message by providing activities for the purpose of promoting fellowship among member groups, their families and friends. ADVISORY COMMITTEE: [Email] Elected committee primarily responsible for the telephone service, intergroup office, budget. May also act to advise the council and intergroup officers about matters important to intergroup affairs. (See LSI by-laws for a full description.) BULLETIN COMMITTEE: [Email]
This Committee carries the message by providing the following
information, in bulletin form, on a monthly basis and in a timely manner:
Coming events, committee actions, group and personal service
commitments, articles on service, anniversaries, excerpts from A.A.
approved literature, minutes of the previous meetings and Treasurer's
reports. CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES COMMITTEE:
This Committee encourages A.A. members to carry the message to
alcoholics confined to long- or short-term institutions, by providing A.A.
meetings and literature and shall review services to, "inside"
groups or meetings. It is
also concerned with clarifying what A.A. can and cannot do, within our
Traditions, to help inmate alcoholics while they are "inside"
and upon release. GRAPEVINE COMMITTEE: [Email] This Committee shall provide subscription information to all interested groups and meetings associated with LSI. Grapevine provides this information at no cost. Ordering of Grapevine subscriptions and materials is a group, meeting, or individual decision. Therefore, no need exists for any budgetary considerations by LSI. LITERATURE COMMITTEE: This Committee shall order, sell and distribute ONLY "General Service Conference" approved literature. The literature shall be maintained in the Intergroup office and will be offered for sale to member groups.PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE: [Email] This Committee tries to carry the A.A. message by providing A.A. literature and information about the Fellowship to the public. It is also concerned with anonymity breaks and misinformation at the public level. (Reprinted with permission from the "The A.A. Service Manual") TREATMENT FACILITIES COMMITTEE:
This Committee encourages A.A. members to assume responsibility for
carrying the message, by providing A.A. meetings for alcoholics in
treatment facilities. The
Committee also reviews all aspects of service to groups and meetings in
treatment facilities and shall make recommendations for improvements or
